Biography
Makram M. Queisi
Mr. Makram Queisi assumed his duties as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United Nations in Vienna, UNIDO, CTBTO, IAEA, OSCE and International Organizations and Bodies in December 2007. He became Non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Czech Republic, as well as to the Republic of Hungary In April 2008. In May 2008 he also assumed his function in the Republic of Slovenia and in February 2009 in the Republic of Slovakia.
Before taking up this position, he served as Ambassador/Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Amman. He joined the Ministry in 2005, where – among other projects - he was in charge of Coordinating the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting at the Dead Sea, Jordan.
Since 2004 he also acts as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Institute of Diplomacy, Amman, Jordan.Mr. Makram Queisi started his carreer in July 1993 as a Coordination and Media Officer in the Office of the Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court, in 1994 he was appointed Director of the Office of then HRH Prince Abdullah Bin Al Hussein at the Royal Hashemite Court.
Since 1996 , Mr. Makram Queisi worked at various departments at the Royal Hashemite Court then joined the Royal Protocol Department as Assistant Chief of Royal Protocol.
Mr. Queisi´s professional experience spans a wide spectrum of public sector development. Involved in major programs to develop activities for strengthening and upgrading the capacity of public sector institutions, i.e. the implementation of complete automation system for the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Makram Queisi holds a Master of Arts degree in Diplomatic Studies from Westminster University, United Kingdom. (1999), as well as a B.A. degree in Computer Science from the University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan. (1992)
Mr. Queisi was granted several Medals and Awards, which include the First Order Medal of Independence granted by His Majesty King Abdullah II (2007), a Decoration from Austria, the Special Token” granted by His Majesty late King Hussein of Jordan for the efforts in the preparations of the Signing Ceremony of the Peace Treaty in Wadi Araba between Jordan and Israel (1994), the Second Order Medal of Independence by His Majesty King Abdullah II (2004), the Third Order Medal of Independence, granted by His Majesty King Abdullah II (2003), the British Medal by Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Swedish Grand Officer Medal, granted by His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf (2003), as well as Medals and Decorations from Spain, Norway, Italy, the Netherlands, and Ukraine. Mr. Queisi is married and has three children.
